On December 5th, 1933, Utah cast the final and deciding vote to repeal the 18th Amendment, which made alcohol illegal in the United States. For over 13 years, it was alcohol that was the demon of society. It was also alcohol that ushered in crime and bootlegging.

The 21st Amendment was a welcome change, as it showed that we can admit we made a mistake when it comes to prohibition.

So raise a glass and cheer the fact that today, and for the last 80 years, we can legally drink our adult beverage of choice.
