Paloma

paloma

Start the new year off right with a fresh drink. I found this recipe for the Paloma on the Casamigos web site. Made with all fresh ingredients, this drink is smooth and refreshing. Of course, you can use any kind of blanco or silver tequila. I highly recommend Casamigos for it’s smoothness and no bite.

Grapefruit and Lime

Start by taking a 1.5 oz jigger of blanco tequila and pouring it into a shaker. Add 3 oz of freshly-squeezed grapefruit juice, 1/2 oz of fresh lime juice and 1 oz and agave nectar. Shake and pour into a rocks glass over ice. Add a splash of ginger beer and a lime wedge for garnishment.

You can taste the tequila, but it doesn’t overwhelm the juices. The agave nectar gives it that sweet edge. You can use simple syrup in place of the agave nectar, if it’s readily available.

So make yourself and others some Palomas today to kick off 2014 with a refreshing mix.
