Day 1 – 24 Spirits of the Season – Gumby
Two years ago, I posted a few blog posts that fell under the category of Holiday Drinks. A couple of my favorites and one from a friend. This year, I am expanding on that with the 24 Spirits of the Season. Each day from December 1st to December 24th, there will be a different drink. The first few days will be revisits to those three I posted in 2012. The remaining days will have me being all experimental and expanding those seasonal alcoholic cocktails. I might even through in some fun surprises.
Gumby
Let’s start with the Gumby. If you want a history of how the Gumby came to be a holiday drink, check out the original post details.
Here’s what you need to make a Gumby:
- 1 part Midori
- 1 part sweet and sour
- 2 parts vodka
- Fill with Sprite or 7-Up
Take a rocks glass, fill with ice. Grab a shaker and add a couple of ice cubes, the Midori, sweet and sour and vodka and shake. Pour into the rocks glass with ice, fill the remainder with Sprite or 7-Up.
Add more vodka to make it less sweeter [and stronger]. Enjoy!
