Dr Morgan

Some time ago, I developed a taste for Captain Morgan, the most famous of spiced rums. I always mixed it with Coke, which was a staple drink for many “I’ll have a Captain and Coke”

But I always wondered what it would taste like mixed with my favorite soda: Dr Pepper.

As it turns out, it mixes very well with Dr Pepper. The Captain and the good Doctor have created the Dr Morgan.

Not that many bars know what a Dr Morgan is because they rarely have Dr Pepper on the gun. For years, I used to frequent a local bar here in Utah called The Puck, which did have Dr Pepper on the gun, so they knew what a Dr Morgan was.

It has been well over 2 years since the last time I had one. I happened to have some Dr Pepper in my drink fridge and remembered I also still had a decent amount of 100 proof Captain Morgan in the liquor cabinet.

Refreshing as I remember. A bit on the sweet side, but still a great tasting mixed drink.

Anyone have a Dr Morgan before?
